BOSTON, MA (2003-08-29) As prison advocates demand reforms in the correctional system, former priest John Geoghan was buried yesterday at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline. Geoghan, who was murdered in his prison cell by another inmate last weekend, was at the heart of the clergy sex abuse crisis that eventually led to the resignation of Cardinal Bernard Law. Geoghan is accused of molesting about 150 children, most of them boys.

Commentator Peter Pollard, a plaintiff in a clergy sex abuse civil suit, says he’s finding it difficult to reconcile his conflicting emotions regarding the circumstances of Geoghan’s death.
