Bierschenk enjoys building his parish in fast-growing McKinney

McKINNEY – The Rev. Stephen Bierschenk had one advantage when he arrived as priest of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church last year: name recognition.
“I’m the priest on TV,” he told parishioners in his first Mass last May.
Father Bierschenk managed a dry sense of humor – and still does – about his high-profile ouster from the much larger St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Dallas.
“I’m a priest,” he said. “I have some rights – but not too many.”
