Don Wycliff says Friday’s “Doonesbury” includes the word “sucks,” and the Chicago Tribune is going to run it. About a month ago, a Trib editor refused to run a “Zits” strip with the word. He complained and the strip’s creator who agreed to change the word to “stinks.” “No such luck with Garry Trudeau, the creator of ‘Doonesbury,'” writes Wycliff. “Trudeau is an 800-pound gorilla in the comics world, a fellow who can do pretty much what he wants.” (Second item.)
