Google News Blog
Google News has adopted badges so people can show off how much they read. About 500 badges are available for a range of interests, from politics to Harry Potter. The badges, which go from Bronze to Ultimate, are private by default, but users can opt to share them with others. “Tell them about your news interests, display your expertise, start a conversation or just plain brag about how well-read you are.”
