Poynter has launched its Internship Database, designed to be the go-to place for students seeking paid summer, fall and spring internships. The goal is to create the nation’s premier collection of journalism and communications internships.

Students can browse our listings and employers can add their own. The database is updated and refreshed weekly.

Speaking of internships, Poynter’s Newsroom Readiness Certificate is designed to prepare student journalists for working in a professional newsroom. Whether you’re an employer looking to make sure your summer hires are prepared for the rigors of the real world or a student who wants to make sure they’re ready for a professional newsroom, this five-hour, self-directed course fills in gaps across ethics, law, interviewing, news gathering and diversity so that employers can confidently hire students with this certificate. And it’s on sale for $29.95 — cheap enough that you can afford to cover the costs for yourself if you’re a student, or for your entire incoming class of summer interns if you’re a manager.

Another Poynter resource you might consider is the free 30-minute webinar “Job Hunting During a Pandemic,” which is packed with solid advice for anyone considering entering the job market, and comes complete with a handy tip sheet.

Good luck and happy interning!
