The winners of the 2024 Poynter Journalism Prizes will be announced at 2 p.m. Eastern time today on poynter.org’s homepage in a streaming broadcast. The contest honors the best in U.S. journalism from 2023 in 10 categories across all platforms.

The contest, formerly run by the News Leaders Association, moved to Poynter this year. It includes prizes for writing, public service, local accountability and social justice reporting, First Amendment work, innovation, diversity and opinion writing. 

In addition to the 10 winners, finalists will be announced in most categories.
